Pregnancy Supplement Routine

Hey Mama!!!

During pregnancy, our nutrient needs increase which therefore increases demand for certain foods, vitamins, and minerals. I always will preach whole foods first while supplementing as needed. The supplements I take are specific to my needs. I don’t take a million different supplements and some of the ones I do take I don’t use everyday. This is a general overview of what I personally take. As always, please discuss with your healthcare provider before starting any supplement routine, especially during pregnancy.

  1. Prenatal Multivitamin: I was using the Thorne prenatal but struggled with taking 3 pills a day, so I ended up switching to the Enfamom one after trying a sample. I like that it’s one pill a day and easy on the stomach.
  2. Collagen:  I have been using the Clean Simple Eats unflavored collagen in my protein lattes. If you are wanting something flavorable, CSE has tons of fun flavors that I love as well! Use code: BEKSLIFE to save you some money!!!
  3. Protein Powder: I use either Pescience or the Clean Simple Eats protein throughout the day. I mostly stick to using protein in my lattes or oats and try not to rely on it too much. I feel ok taking either of those brands. You can shop clean simple eats protein here and use code: BEKSLIFE or shop Pescience here (not affiliated with Pescience).
  4. Magnesium Bisglycinate: I don’t take magnesium every day but when I did, it’s because of either the headaches I was experiencing early on or because I need to wind down and get better sleep. I love two brands. I either use the powdered version from Thorne in my night time tea, or I take the Why Not Natural which is a pill form. Links to my Thorne here and to Why Not Natural here
  5. B12: . Every now and then I’ll take a serving of the Why Not Natural B12, especially if I’m needing an energy boost!
  6. Vitamin D3/K2: I feel Vitamin D is a supplement most people need anyway, so I have continued it during my pregnancy. I will admit I don’t take this one every day but when I remember, I add it a fun drink when I make it. I use the Vitamin D3/K2 drops from Thorne. You can shop via my online dispensary here.
  7. Prenatal Omega 3: Omega 3 intake is super important during pregnancy and I recommend taking one in addition to the prenatal. I have been liking Thorne for Omega 3 because of the dosage and effectiveness of the brand. I use the Prenatal DHA specifically which you can find on my link here.

Always remember, eating a balanced diet and focusing on a quality prenatal and fish oil is the foundation for a healthy pregnancy. The other supplements I mentioned are optional if you feel you want extra benefits they provide! Discuss with your care team!!

Xoxo, Beks
